Zuiker inked to pen ‘Dogtown’ for Fox with EP Evan Charnov


Scribe Anthony Zuiker has been enlisted by producer Art Linson to write “The Lords of Dogtown” for Fox 2000.

Linson and his son, John, will produce along with Evan Charnov and Michael Shuken.

Fox 2000 veep Ashley Kramer will shepherd the project.Based on Spin magazine article,”Lords of Dogtown” will be an original script that explores the culture of skateboarding and its evolution in the 1970s. Recently, the Zuiker-penned one-hour drama “Crime Scene Investigation,” produced by Bruckheimer Films, was greenlit at CBS. William Petersen will produce and star.

Zuiker’s first screenplay, “The Runner,” written for First Look Pictures, centered on gambling in Las Vegas. He also penned “The Harlem Globetrotters Story” for Columbia Pictures, which Penny Marshall will direct, and “Hoodfellas,” which was sold to Warner Bros. and is based on an article in New York magazine. Story centers on a new generation of mall-rat mobsters and is in development at Warners.

Linson was one of the producers of “Fight Club,” the David Fincher-helmed Brad Pitt starrer. His producing credits include “The Untouchables,” “Heat,” “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” and “Dick Tracy.” Zuiker is repped by Margaret Riley of Industry Entertainment, CAA and Kevin Yorn at Barnes, Morris & Yorn.
